Starter Activity (Local Conservation of Biodiversity)
Last weekend it was the Big Garden Birdwatch. This is an event organised by the Royal Society for the Protection of Birds (RSPB) one of the best UK based organisations for conservation. The Big Garden Bird Watch is a national data collection, done by sampling birds across the country and is the largest species counting event in the UK.
The count provides valuable data for conservation activities and is a great way to start thinking about how you may use species sampling for your internal assessment.
Your activity is to familiarise yourself with the resource below (Big Garden Birdwatch 2018 pdf and RSPB twitter feed). You should prepare to feedback to the class using a collaborative google doc, you will use the following questions:

Starter Activity (Global Conservation of Biodiversity)
Greenpeace who may be better known for their climate change work are a great global organisation to follow on twitter and do fantastic work on conservation of biodiversity. They do this through educational materials, lobbying for legislation and protesting environmental injustice.
Below is their twitter feed for you to explore and a video advertising their Greenpeace VR Explore app. We will use the greenpeace vr explorer app or a greenpeace vr search on youtube to learn about a conservation issue of your choice. You will then answer the following questions on the collaborative google doc and feedback to the class:
